A Day at the Races

This past Friday, October 4th, ADA attended a “Day at the Races” in Houston. Thanks to our friends at BraunAbility and the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, some of our customers got to take a behind the scenes tour of the Houston Grand Prix.

Once we arrived to Reliant Stadium, the gates were open and we went across the racetrack into the pits. We were able to meet some of the drivers who, to our surprise, were between the ages of 18-22! They told us about their own personal stories, how they started racing and even posed for pictures.

After a catered lunch in our VIP tent, Michael Johnson shared his story with us. As a child, Michael was injured in a motorcycle race accident and became paralyzed. Since then, he has refused to give up on his dream of racing. He is now the only driver in this program to drive with hand controls and continues to work towards his goal of racing and winning the Indy 500. Thanks for sharing your story with us, Michael. You are an inspiration!

Thanks to all of our customers for sharing this experience with us. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
